Dining In and Around the Park, Part 2

One of the things we discovered on our last trip was that tuna is a great thing to have in the park.  Full of protein, very cheap, and very easy!  Starkist has made this product that is ready to go!  It is very similar to Lunchables (which we DO NOT recommend.)  It comes with a small tuna can, crackers, reduced fat mayo, mixing spoon, napkin, and a mint.  Very good for a lunch.  We also recommend bringing Triscuit crackers into the park.  They last in a back pack and don't get crushed.  (DO NOT BRING CHEEZ ITS INTO THE PARK!)

The items above are very good snacks to bring into the park.  Beef Jerky, Variety of nuts, and Fruit Leathers.  You will be happy you have some of these items in your bag when you realize you are dragging your body around the park. 

Granola bars, protein bars and pretzels are also great to bring into the park.  Be very careful with chocolate items since they will melt in your back pack.

One of our favorite places to eat is the Pacific Wharf Cafe in California Adventure.  This restaurant is a walk up and take out restaurant and requires no reservations.  They serve bread bowls that are made at the sour dough factory connected to the restaurant. 

You can also take a tour of the factory before eating your dinner!  This area of the park is somewhat secluded and provides a little bit of peace away from the madness of the parks.  Plus their food is very good and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. (The desserts below do not come with the price of the meal.)

Their soups: Monterey Clam Chowder, Bakersfield Broccoli and Cheese, Santa Rosa Corn Chowder, and Vallejo Vegetarian Chili

Their salads: Chinese Chicken, Sonoma Chicken and Apple, and San Francisco Shrimp Louie
Their sandwiches: Salinas Turkey, and Carmel Roast Beef
They also have children's items and desserts.

You can also buy a loaf of sour dough bread in the shape of Mickey Mouse!  What a great souvenir to take home!

If you decide to eat at the Pacific Wharf Cafe get your food in time to enjoy a parade along the parade route (which happens to go right along the side of the restaurant.  You can see the daytime parades or "Disney's Electrical Parade."  We definately recommend eating at the Pacific Wharf Cafe and enjoying the great food and atmosphere.
