While planning your trip make sure to establish a meeting location in each park as a location to assemble if someone in your party gets lost. Make sure everyone in your party knows this location. It is best to use a place that is not usually packed with people. Avoid parade routes and popular attractions. Some people even have meeting locations in each land.
It is also very important to show children what Cast Members look like and help them know that they can speak to them if they get lost.

-California Adventure (Next to Mission Tortilla Factory in the Pacific Wharf)
-Downtown Disney (Children are taken to location in Disneyland)

The most important thing to remember is that the park is one of the safest places to lose a child but it can still be very scary. Also, don't be embarrassed that you have lost your child. They deal with this multiple times a day and are very willing to help your child find their lost parent.
